*** The FIRST and ORIGINAL theremin created for iOS! ***
*** Featured in Apples "New & Noteworthy" ***
*** Top 100 music app in over 60 countries! ***

Put a theremin in your pocket! Modeled after the infamous instrument that lent spooky sounds to countless classic sci-fi and horror films, Thereminator allows you to evoke the theremin magic by using the touch or accelerometer interface on your device. Simply move your finger horizontally to change pitch, and vertically to control the volume. If you want a really "airy" feel, hit "options" and hit "accel": now you can control pitch and volume by simply moving your iDevice around, touch-free.

With its one-button grid overlay (you can choose to see musical tones or frequencies) and accel-or-touch following crosshairs, Thereminator also makes one of the most notoriously challenging musical instrument slightly more...manageable. With a frequency range of 20 - 2020 Hz and a cool, retro-looking digital readout, dedicated zoom buttons, and a range scroller, youll get hooked in no time.

Specs follow,

-- Six-and-a-half octave range (20Hz - 2020Hz)
-- Rich 44100 Hz, 16-bit CD-quality audio output
-- Four separate waveforms, giving different sounds
-- Manipulate sounds via touch screen or accelerometer
-- Accelerometer stabilizer button
-- Optional tone/frequency/volume grid overlay
-- Echo and tremolo effects
-- Portamento algorithm built-in for simulating quick "hand jerks" (no discrete "slides")
-- Increase or decrease pitch resolution
-- User-controlled pitch range
-- Live frequency and volume indicators

You can navigate using the "+" / "-" buttons and the scroller bar. Zooming in will fit a smaller interval of frequencies onscreen, allowing for a finer pitch control. Scrolling will change the beginning and ending frequencies.

Access such options as FX, accelerometer control and grid overlay thru the "Options" button. There, you can choose among the three different delay types; turn the grid overlay on or off (and choose whether youd like to see frequencies or notes); switch accel on/off (also, switch the accel stabilizer...on by default); or switch the tremolo effect on.

Martian invaders not included!

Pros and cons of Thereminator app for iPhone and iPad

Thereminator app good for

its nearly perfekt with the 1.1 Update - Adjustable Frequence of the Tremolo would be nice for future Updates.
Nice and simple, sounds great. An absolute must for musicians of any kind. Hours of fun and very useful.
I wait only for an update with an distortion effect first and an second increased frequency range up to 10KHz... The dream is to load an owne sample This app works easy pefect! For this a new price or a new app will be ok and welcome
This app works great for making some very spacey "sound mayhem" effects on stage. Very psychedelic and a huge bottom end when connected to a good PA (headphone out splitted to two DIs). Ive used it on countless gigs with absolutely no technical problems!
Spent all night trying to play good vibrations by the beach boys... Woke up the kids!!
Awesome application! As a possible feature update, it might be really cool to be able to generate the pitch by tilting the phone (and even changing volume by tilting in another axis). Im not sure what the sesitivity of the Accelerometer is, and if it would be of higher or lower resolution that the screen, but it could be an interesting mode to switch back and forth from. Another cool option would be a "quantize" mode, where even though you would "hear" all the frequencies as you move from note to note (a portimento like feature), you would "land" on properly pitched notes? Thanks for the amazing Application!

Some bad moments

bought because so many stars...and this is worst app in my collection . should be cost 1$ or would be some trial version... why pople like it ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ... for example music studio (20$) worth every cent but this app ??? jesus what for ? they made it ?
This app is not worth it. it does not sound or function like a theremin. It sounds chromatic and jerky, has horrible tremolo, which is only set to one possible rate at a time. The only thing you control is the pitch. Big deal. I would ask for my money back if it were possible.
Could be great but needs an update for the bigger screen, better sound, HD, etc. Im glad to change my rating when they do, otherwise, save your money.
